To-Do Tuesday

I have totally been rocking the Flylady wagon, and my house is LOVING me right now. (It’s a little bit at a time (aka ‘Baby Steps’), but the cleanliness & organization is spreading…and IT. IS. AWESOME.) With the help of Springpad, I have purged & inventoried my pantry, so menu planning & list making is going soooo much smoother. You may think I’m a nerd for putting all our non-perishables into a program, printing the list, & hanging it on the inside of the pantry door, but if it makes my life easier…I’ll be a nerd. ;) I plan on kicking into high gear and totally blowing out this list (except #10…still not too sure about that one *cough* GREG *cough*), so prepare yourselves for a clean slate next week!

1. Keep decluttering & orgainizing…I’m on a roll!

2. Read – daily quiet time & finish grossly overdue library book.
3. Continue planning for Grayson’s & Kylie’s birthdays.
4. Fix chore chart system…slight miscalculation is causing confusion with my kids.
5. Wrap Grayson’s Christmas presents if he takes a nap this week when he goes to bed.
6. Finish taping off at the church so we can start painting a totally sweet design in the kids area.
7. Take ‘donate’ stuff to the thrift store!
8. Make list w/ coupon match-ups, menu plan & make grocery list for next week.
9. Go exploring in the garage for runaway items needed for Christmas & stuff to donate/trash/sell.
10. Work on getting blog transferred over…with the help of genius programmer hubby. (Really questioning if this is EVER going to happen.)

I ‘stole’ the following from Crazy Adventures in Parenting…the fearless leader of To-Do Tuesday. =)

Would you like to join us this week for To-Do Tuesday? Start with just a few things. Don’t over-do it your first couple of times. You’ll grow to become a list-a-holic later, start small now, though, k?
Just so you know, you can join us at anytime, it doesn’t have to be on Tuesdays – the list will go up every Tuesday for you to link to, but you can make your list and link to us at any point in the week!

Remember, with “To-Do Tuesday”, we’re attacking our to-do lists each week, blogging about our lists and what we’ve got going on, and sharing it with each other to help keep each other accountable. Everyone should come back here to link up in the MckLinky as the central “To-Do Tuesday Hub” so we can visit who’s participating and offer encouragement to each other throughout the week. Don’t forget to add the “To-Do Tuesday” button to your post, linking back to this post!

Let’s continue to cross items off our list as we go and help support each other in completing our lists! Don’t forget my useful HTML tutorial on how to effectively “cross-out” or √ “check off” your items on your to-do list!

Things I Do Because I’m Funny Like That…

On Thursday I discovered a website (Springpad – Thanks jjaner!) where I can keep track of all my neurotic lists in one place. I became obsessed with adding apps to my account and began making menus, Christmas Card lists, etc. I added an app to keep track of my ‘pantry’…this includes Perishable/Non-Perishables, Frozen Foods, Spices, etc. On Friday, I got sick of looking at my pathetically cluttered and unorganized pantry and decided it was time. Time to purge the food closet of old forgotten graham crackers, lonely bagels hidden under a half empty bag of wide egg noodles, several mostly empty boxes of granola bars. Time to inventory our food so I could stop repeatedly purchasing pudding and salad dressing and salsa when we already had these items on hand. Time to get a handle on our situation, so I could more efficiently plan our budget and menu. So, I did it…and It. Feels. Good.
P.S. I did not alphabetize anything…I’m not that bad yet.

Softsoap Nutri Serums *REVIEW*

A few weeks ago, I received samples of Softsoap Nutri Serums Body Nourishing Wash from BzzAgent to try and review. I was very excited to try this body wash. I had purchased some a few months ago that went into my stockpile and I had forgotten about it. When I was chosen to participate in this campaign I remembered about my stockpiled body wash and had to force myself not to raid my stockpile closet and to just wait for my samples to review. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to receive several trial size bottles of both kids to try and share with my friends.

Okay, on to the details! Softsoap Nutri Serums Body Nourishing Wash comes in two varieties. The green kind is Restoring Vitamin E (this helps restore your skin & protect it from UV rays & pollution that damage collagen & elastin – the proteins that help to keep your skin tight), and has a light clean, fresh scent. The pink one is Moisture Retaining Omegas 3 & 6 (this helps preserve your skin’s protective layer, and maintains moisture), and smells kind of tropical…reminds me of a light coconut scent. The body wash is very thick, and feels quite luxurious (even though it is thick, it is not hard to rinse off). I don’t know if the serum pearls make much difference, but I like them. The only real problem I had with the body wash is that it didn’t lather well. I even tried using it with exfoliating gloves, and still wasn’t happy with the lather. My favorite scent was the pink one, but my husband liked the green one better…he said the pink one was a little too feminine. Overall, I like the body wash. It has a pleasant, not over-powering scent, and did leave my skin feeling clean and soft. (The suggested retail price is $3.50 – $4.50 for 15 oz.)
Now on to a little bonus for you!
1. Visit ChatThreads.com, and enter the following Conversation ID: 101 763 632783
2. Answer some questions. (It’s not many.) Then choose either a donation to charity, or the chance to win Amazon.com gift certificates worth $100 to $1000!
(This helps BzzAgent follow word of mouth about this product…and gives you a chance to win a gift certificate…with Christmas coming, who couldn’t use a little extra $$?)

Trick-or-Treat?

Expecting at least a dozen or so kids to trick-or-treat at our house, we prepared mummies filled with candy, BNC Hallowin DVD’s, plus a huge bowl full of extras to make the kiddos happy.
We were having friends over, and I promised to bring cookies up to our church for the Hallowin party, so Grayson helped me make 6 dozen cookies. Half were made with chocolate cake mix, and the other half were made with yellow cake mix tinted orange to be festive.
We also made pizza, beer dip, banana slush punch, various soda and Brandon & Sarah brought apple cider & a red velvet cake roll. (I didn’t get pictures of everything, so just visualize more food. LOL)

We then dressed up, and waited for the slew of trick-or-treaters…which actually totaled 1. One little trick-or-treater…what the heck? Anyways, Grayson was Spider-Man complete with muscles, Greg was a doctor, and I was Super Mom.

Our friends James & Tera brought their boys over to play (they were dressed as Optimus Prime & Woody…too cute). Grayson & Conner played until almost 1:30am. What better way to ensure getting to sleep in the next morning?

I didn’t get good pictures of Brandon & Sarah, but they were hippies…Brandon had an afro, it was great. ;) We spent the evening hanging out, quizzing each other with ‘The Office Trivia Game’ questions, and just enjoying the company of some of our bestest friends. Even though we had only one lonely trick-or-treater, I would say the evening was quite a success. Everyone had a good time, and we had lots of delicious snacks to enjoy!

To-Do Tuesday

Everyone has been totally well for a week! Woohoo! Most of my to-do list is planning things. This leaves time for me to finish my overdue library book…I hope. Plus I need to work on my organizational skills. I am going to attempt to use cozi.com and goalforit.com to help me with this task. Be sure to add your list using the MckLinky at the bottom & leave me some comment love! =)
