To-Do Tuesday ~ Week 15

I didn’t get as much done last week as I would have liked…story of my life. Not a big deal though, because there’s always another day to do housework…and if not, I’m in a better place where there is no housework. ;) I have alot more on my plate than listed here, but these are my main ‘To-Do’s’. 2. Start working on organizing & purging the craft closet.
3. Write & post reviews.
4. Wrap Kara’s birthday presents!
5. List more things on Listia!
6. Make Kara’s cake & post pictures…prep for birthday party on Thursday!

Will You Marry Me?

I was awakened this morning by sweet kisses from my husband and him whispering ‘Will you marry me?’ in my ear. What a perfect way to wake up on our anniversary. 5 years ago, I made a promise to God to love, honor, cherish, and obey a man who is perfect for me.

I am so blessed that God chose this man for me to spend the rest of my life with. He is not perfect, but he is perfect for me. We’ve had ups and downs like any other couple, but I wouldn’t change a thing about the past 5 years.  I not only became a wife to this man, but a mother to his 2 daughters and he not only became a husband to me, but a father to my daughter.  And it has been/is amazing.  I love those girls like they’re mine and am now blessed to be called ‘Mom’ by 4 beautiful children.  He is a wonderful father & husband…I couldn’t ask for a better man.

I am the happiest I’ve ever been, and I am in love. Totally head over heals in love with my husband and look forward to celebrating 50+ more anniversaries with this wonderful man, my husband, my love.  Thank you, Baby, for the past 5 years. I love you.

To-Do Tuesday ~ Week 14

Well, I’ve been out of pocket for the past week or so.  Seems like everything is totally chaotic over here.  We’ve got a visitor coming in a little over a week, I’ve been trying to help my dad get his stuff squared away for his move to Florida (I hate that he’s going so far away), we have a dreaded meeting looming (yuck), I’ve painted at the church ALOT (it’s looking awesome, but no where near finished), I’ve been sidetracked by a new website (Listia.com) totally had to put my blog renovations on hold (boo!), plus I’m behind on housework (double boo!).  One super cool thing is that I’ve reconnected with several of my old friends from USMC Boot Camp.  It’s crazy how because of Facebook we’ve all been able to find eachother and catch up.  Hopefully there will be some kind of reunion next year sometime.  Because of all of this that has either piled up (housework) or hit all at once (all the other stuff), my list is short.

1. Get back into my routine…I feel lost (and lazy) when I’m not on track.
2. Take Grayson to the park.
3. Take truck through car wash (with the kids).
4. Continue to declutter house! Gameroom is still on the list!
5. List more things on Listia!
6. Make some last minute decisions about Kara’s birthday party.

Date Night!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

Date Night Movie

Date Night, starring Steve Carell & Tina Fey opens tomorrow, April 9, 2010…and we have the kids. I was really hoping to take the opportunity to be corny, and use the opening night as our own date night. The whole nine yards…dress nice, dinner at the Lakehouse, go to the movies to watch ‘Date Night’ on our actual date night…you know the drill. Unfortunately, opening night fell on a weekend that we have the kids, sooooo…for us no date night. Boo. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t express my opinion about it. I absolutely love Steve Carell’s comedic style, and think he is hilarious. The Office is one of my favorite shows, I could watch the part on ‘Bruce Almighty’ where Jim Carey makes him babble like an idiot a thousand times and laugh uncontrollably every time, and I even liked his serious side in ‘Dan In Real Life’. Tina Fey is adorable, and quite funny as well. I thought that this movie would be great when I first saw that Steve Carell & Tina Fey were playing a couple. Why has no one thought to put them together before? It seems perfect.

Here’s a little info about the movie, just in case you live under a rock and have not seen any previews…

In “Date Night,” which opens Friday, a bored suburban couple played by Steve Carell and Tina Fey go on their weekly dinner date and find themselves thrown into a night of intrigue: there’s breaking and entering, a car chase, a shootout and a showdown with an underworld boss at a strip club. Husband and wife come out of the adventure with some scratches and also with their ardor renewed.
For even more info, you can check out the full NYT article HERE.

Just because I am unable to go watch ‘Date Night’ tomorrow, doesn’t mean you can’t…check out this trailer, enjoy the movie tomorrow, and don’t spoil it for me!

April Fools’ Day

Just for the record I hate April Fools’ Day.  My husband and I usually have a truce, and the kids are terrible at pranks.  The main person I torture year after year is my Mom.  The first joke I remember being played on her wasn’t by me, it was by my dad.  He hung a pig skull (not sure where managed to get it) from the ceiling fan in our living room.  She was not a happy camper.  My favorite joke that was played on her was by me.

I can’t remember if it was last year or the year before, but my oldest step-daughter, Kylie has very thin hair.  We keep it cut in a cute little A-line style so it doesn’t look stringy and so it looks thicker…plus it’s easy to manage and adorable on her.  Anyway, I called my sweet, innocent Mom, and in a very upset voice told her that Kylie got gum stuck in her hair up near her scalp and it wouldn’t come out.  We tried everything…peanut butter, ice, vegetable oil, Vaseline, and nothing worked.  We had to get her hair cut off…I mean OFF.  She looked like a boy, and was devastated.  She cried about going to school, etc., etc.  She bought the whole thing.  She was voicing her sympathies for her poor, beautiful Kylie, when I interrupted and said, ‘Hey, isn’t today April 1st?’  Hehe.  It’s a good thing she’s in Texas, because I just might have got a spanking for that one. ;)

Olay Quench In-Shower Lotion *REVIEW*

My first thought about ‘in-shower lotion’ was that it was ridiculous.  Why on earth would I want to add a step to my shower?  Why would I want to apply a lotion that’s made to rinse off…only to have to apply lotion again after my shower…what’s the point?  Oh…for the shower product people to make money, right.  Well, I can honestly say that I am so glad I didn’t voice those opinions because I’d totally have to take back every word. ;)

Last week, Walgreen’s had a special going on when you purchase Olay Quench Body Lotion, you get the Olay Quench In-Shower Lotion for FREE…so I did what I always do when something is available for free…I got it.  I figured, heck, it’s free…why not try it?  So, I did.  And I love it.  That’s right, LOVE IT!  It is a thick creamy lotion with a light scent that lingers after the shower.  It is so moisturizing that I don’t have to put additional lotion on after my shower if I’m in a hurry.  It leaves your skin soft without being greasy.  It is a great product, but slightly pricey for my taste.  I also tried using the Olay Quench Body Lotion after my shower the next day, and my skin felt wonderful all day.

I LOVE the scent of this lotion, it reminds me of summer for some reason…I’m guessing the cocoa butter.  It is light, but keeps my skin moisturised all day.  Best of all, it is reasonably priced and I have seen coupons for it.  Also, right now there is a rebate available so you can try it for FREE.  Here’s the link to the rebate… http://www.olay.com/Club_Olay/march2010/images/Quench_Form_olayhome.pdf
