I was asked to test Pink Zebra Sprinkles by my friend Christi. She gave me several different scents to try, and I can say I was not disappointed. I use a Better Homes and Gardens warmer, and have been using the wax cubes from Wal-Mart. I like the variety of scents and the price of the Wal-Mart cubes, but they don’t last long. It seems like they only last 2 days or so with a good strong scent, then they’re just kinda meh. Enter Pink Zebra Sprinkles.
I wasn’t given huge amounts to sample, which worked out well because I think I would have totally used too much. It really doesn’t take much of the sprinkles, (maybe a teaspoon?) and the scent lasts longer than the cubes! Another cool feature of the sprinkles is you can mix scents. I used the Farm House Cider one for 3-4 days and when I noticed the scent wasn’t as strong as it was originally, I added 6 little cinnamon sprinkles, and boom…Cinnamon Apple Cider. And the scents are ridiculously spot on. For instance, you know how peach scented stuff usually has that artifical peachy smell that is too sweet? The peach scented Pink Zebra Sprinkles smell like you’ve just bit into a super ripe, juicy, delicious peach. Seriously…it’s crazy how accurate the scents are. Overall, I am really pleased with the sprinkles, and look forward to trying more scents. If you don’t already have your own warmer, they have a nice variety of styles to fit your decor, and just like the sprinkles…they can be mix & matched. They also have some cool reed diffusers that I really want to check out.
If you’d like to order some for yourself, or if you’d like more information, check out Christi’s Pink Zebra Sprinkles page or contact her directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org
And…last but not least, she is running a special that if you spend $50 or more before tax/shipping, you will get one free jar of sprinkles and be entered into a raffle for a FREE base, liner and shade combo!
I wanted to make my blogging return a good one, and what better way than a review & giveaway!! Today is a review on Woolzies Dryer Balls. You may be wondering…’What the heck are dryer balls?’ I wondered the same thing a few years ago. I have a front load washer & dryer set, and absolutely love them. We are a family of 6…with 3 teen/pre-teen girls and a 6 year old boy…we do A LOT of laundry. I bought the front load to save money in the long run on detergent, electricity, water, etc. Problem is it is high capacity…which to my brain means, pack that sucker full. Soooo…I noticed my towels were starting to not be very fluffy, things weren’t drying well on one drying cycle, and my clothes were wrinkly even right out of the dryer. Enter dryer balls.
If you know me at all, or have read much of my blog, you know that I love to make things. So, when I saw these felted wool dryer balls that were selling for about $5 per ball on Etsy, I thought, ‘I can make that!’ My result was a partial fail. First problem, we don’t have any good craft stores around here, so I had to wait until we went somewhere to purchase 100% wool yarn. Second problem, I don’t know how to felt, and my attempt didn’t produce dryer balls that looked nice and fluffy…mine just looked like fuzzy yarn balls. They worked okay for a little while, then one day I opened the dryer and found a tangled fuzzy yarn mess. One of my homemade dryer balls had come partially unraveled and wrapped all around my load of clothes. Not an effective way of fluffing clothes if you ask me.
What’s left of my attempt at felted dryer balls…there were 5.
I wasn’t really completely happy with the performance of my homemade dryer balls, but I’m stubborn and I refused to admit even partial failure. So, I decided to scale back my load size to large, but not stuffed loads…this seemed to help on the drying time problem, and a little on the fluffy towel problem, but not really to my satisfaction. Basically I had given up, and just accepted the problem rather than attempting to try again…100% wool yarn isn’t cheap, and felting is time consuming.
Woolzies Dryer Balls
Now about Woolzies…they claim:
Woolzies are handmade, nontoxic dryer balls that do not coat clothing with dangerous chemicals, therefore making your laundry safe for all. Also, Woolzies cuts your drying time down sometimes as much as 40% saving you and your family time and money. Woolzies are guaranteed to last for at least 1,000 loads. Woolzies do not shed, therefore they are safe for those with wool allergies to use.
I have noticed since removing my defective homemade dryer balls and using 6 XL Woolzies Dryer Balls, my towels are a bit fluffier, clothes are less wrinkled, and the drying cycle is more effective. I can’t say that it is as much as 40% less drying time, but it is noticeable. I have children with allergies and my husband has sensitive skin, so I am unable to use dryer sheets to add scent. With Woolzies, you can add a few drops of essential oils to the dryer balls and your laundry smells however you want it to. I haven’t noticed any issues with static, but it’s not winter yet. The remedy they suggest is rolling up a piece of plain kitchen aluminum foil into the size of a Woolzies dryer ball and add it to the dryer with the other 6 balls.
This is a product that I wish I had just purchased in the first place, rather than try to make my own. Huge thank you to Lauren at Wise To Be Social, and Eli from Woolzies Dryer Balls for sponsoring this giveaway. They graciously sent me a box of 6 XL Woolzies Dryer Balls to try and review, and then are throwing in another set for my giveaway! If you’d like to enter, please use the Rafflecopter widget below. There are many ways to enter, so good luck!
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
So, the other day, I receive a package in the mail. I’d been expecting several packages, but not from this particular company. Confused, yet a bit excited (I like getting packages), I opened the box to reveal a white t-shirt and what I thought was a slightly deflated stuffed pig. Upon further inspection, the stuffed pig was actually a hat. Grayson, my 3 year old son, immediately confiscated it.
It was actually a promotional pack of sorts from a new mobile app called WeReward. Their logo is a flying pig…too cute. WeReward is a pretty cool app from the geniuses over at Izea (the company behind SocialSpark & Sponsored Tweets). The app was not immediately available for download, which drove me crazy, so I patiently awaited the launch.
The following day, I received an e-mail stating that WeReward had launched and was available in the iTunes store. I downloaded it, and began exploring. This video explains it perfectly…check it out!
The check-in’s are simple. So far, they are just photos of the businesses. I’m sure once this app gets going, it will be more indepth. The tasks are pretty cool…so far I’ve earned points for photographing various businesses & for doing a few random things like photographing myself drinking a RedBull. I’m up to 165 points at the moment, but I forsee that going quite a bit higher in the near future. If you’d like to check it out, you can check out their website at WeReward.com or Download the App.
This isn’t exactly a Thrifty Thursday post, but it is a way to make a little extra cash here and there…which I am always looking for. It may only be 25 cents a day or so, but it eventually adds up. If you’re a Stay-At-Home-Mom on a budget like me, every little bit helps!
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hampton Hotels. All opinions are 100% mine.
I just heard of a sweepstakes sponsored by Hampton that has a pretty sweet prize.
Picture this…you and 100 (yes, one hundred) of your friends staying at a Hampton hotel for one weekend, plus $5000 to help pay the tax for the weekend stay. How crazy would a hotel full of you & your friends be? Would the hotel staff be relieved when you left, or would they miss you? Would it be one of those ‘What happens in —-, stays in —-!’ weekends, or would you be able to post about it on Facebook? Personally, if I were to win, I would choose somewhere relatively close that has stuff you can do within walking distance. Maybe Branson, Memphis, St. Louis…or maybe save it for the USMC Platoon 4011 reunion we have in the works for next summer. A hotel full of Marines? Yeah, they’d be relieved when we left. I think it would be pretty fun though.
The sweepstakes is called Chain-of-Friends. It’s Hampton Hotels way of getting you to reconnect with your friends. The hotel lists the Grand Prize as: Entire hotel for a weekend (100 rooms for 2 nights). And 100 First Prizes: Weekend stays given away daily for the winner & 3 of their friends. The sweepstakes is open to everyone, not just Hilton Honors members or those who have previously stayed at a Hampton Hotel. Go HERE to enter!
Well, I only had 3 entries on my FREE Freschetta FlatBread Pizza giveaway. I guess people don’t like FREE pizza. I wish I had 3 coupons, but I only have 2. Since there were only 3 entries, I just wrote the names down on 3 slips of paper and randomly drew 2 names. The winners are…
Lisa & Nicolette!
Thanks for entering! I have e-mailed both winners for their addresses. Thanks again for reading & entering this giveaway! Don’t forget to check out the Dove Ultimate Review & Giveaway I have going on! =)
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Freschetta. All opinions are 100% mine.
I received coupons for FREE Freschetta Pizza from the great people over at Social Spark & Freschetta a little over a week ago for me to be able to try & review the pizza. Last night we tried the new Zesty Italian FlatBread. Typically, I am not a fan of thin crust, but this pizza was excellent. It was nice & crispy, the toppings were delicious, and it only took about 10 minutes as opposed to around 25 with a thick crust. If you are a fan of thin crust, I would HIGHLY recommend this pizza. My only complaint is that with thin crust, it is simply not enough food. The package says it serves 3 people, but there’s no way. I ate 1/2, my 3 year old had 1/4, and my husband had 1/4 + 2 hamburgers. Granted, my husband eats like a horse, but I figured myself & a 3 year old would kinda balance that out. We have eaten Freschetta in the past, and I must say that my favorite is a toss up between the Brick Oven Italian Pepperoni and the PizzAmore Supreme. You can get a $1 off coupon HERE and try it for yourself!
Or you can enter to win a coupon for a FREE Freschetta Pizza! This giveaway is short & will only run for a little over 48 hours because the coupons expire May 31st. I will choose 2 winners from the comments via random.org.
To enter: (Leave a separate comment for EACH entry…make sure I have a way to contact you!)
1. Leave a comment about pizza…how much you like it, your favorite toppings, etc. (unlimited entries as long as you stay on topic)
2. Follow me on twitter & tweet about this giveaway. *make sure you use the hashtag #Freschetta (unlimited entries – leave link to tweet in your comment)

WARNING: IF ARM PITS GROSS YOU OUT, DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW!
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Brian with Rocket XL regarding Dove’s ‘Piticure’ Campaign. I know you’ve heard of ‘Pedicures’ and ‘Manicures’, but ‘Piticure’? What the heck is that? Yep, you guessed it…pampering for your pits. Think about it…do you ever actually think about the condition of your skin under your arms unless it’s either irritated, hairy or stinky? Who would have ever thought to pamper the skin under your arms? Uh…Dove?! I was seriously sceptical at first and then I actually went through the steps they suggested. And guess what? My under arm skin was everything they said it would be. Non-stinky, smooth, moisturized…awesome. Typically, I’m not a stinky person (or so I’ve been told), but I really like the scent of Secret Clinical Strength so I’ve been using that the past few months. Only problem was that it irritated my skin…almost made it feel burned. When I was contacted by Rocket XL, I was more than happy to try out a new deodorant. They sent me 2 deodorants to try & review…along with links to the ‘Piticure’ Campaign. If I were to review it properly, I, of course, had to go through all the steps. After watching the following video, I followed the instructions exactly.
The steps that were suggested were simple.
1. Gently exfoliate & cleanse.
3. Pat dry & apply Dove Ultimate.
I was also very surprised by some of the interesting facts I learned…such as:
Shaving reduces the top layer of skin by 20 percent, and can result in irritation and skin dryness.
As a result of shaving, underarm skin loses 50 percent more water, which can cause dryness and inflammation.
Also, Dove Ultimate has a tri-moisturizing system:
• Humectant – works like a magnet to hold in moisture under the skin’s surface, keeping delicate underarm skin conditioned
• Occlusive Layer – forms a layer on the surface of the skin to prevent moisture loss, which can cause dryness
• Nourishing Moisturizer – Contains natural sunflower oil that is known to help boost the skin’s natural moisture barrier to soothe shaving irritation and help deliver soft, smooth underarm skin with Dove 1/4 Translucent Moisturizers™
In the past, I really had given no thought to my underarm skin unless it was giving me a problem. I can honestly say that since taking part in the Dove ‘Piticure’ Campaign, that is no longer the case. Caring for this area of skin has become just as important as any other part of my body, and I am extremely pleased with the results. Dove Ultimate – Sheer Silk & Light Radiance are both wonderful scents. My husband prefers Sheer Silk, but I favor Light Radiance. I apply in the morning after my shower, and it lasts all day/night with no white marks on my clothing. My skin is smooth & moisturized, and feels healthy. It even seems as though it’s less irritating to shave. I’m not sure if that is due to the moisturizing of the deodorant or the exfoliating I’ve been doing, but either way, my daily ‘piticure’ is helping in more ways than one. Now on to the give away!
The wonderful people from Dove & Rocket XL are sponsoring a giveaway for a package Dove Ultimate Anti-perspirant/Deodorant. It will be shipped to the winner directly from Rocket XL. To enter (leave a separate comment for EACH entry):
1. Leave a comment stating what deodorant you currently use. (1 entry)

3. Follow my blog on Facebook & post about this giveaway. (unlimited entries)
4. Post about this giveaway on Myspace. (unlimited entries)
This giveaway will run from NOON May 19, 2010 – NOON June 3, 2010. I will choose a winner from the comments via random.org at NOON CST June 3, 2010. The winner will have 48 hours to respond with their shipping address or I will choose an alternate winner. Thanks for entering & good luck! =)
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Caitlin from Rocket XL about reviewing the Beautyfix.com system. My beauty routine and products are lacking, so I was quite excited to test it out! I received the Spring 2010 Beautyfix in return for my honest opinion of the system and products. (There is also a special offer available for my readers. Yeah!)
Beautyfix.com is an exclusive beauty club that offers a different package of beauty products each season. The way it works is when you become a member, you complete your personal profile. Then their panel of beauty experts suggest products for you based on the information you put into your profile. You choose 8 products from the ones listed and that’s it! It costs $49.99/season and shipping is always FREE. The products are high quality, and there is a pretty good variety. Here’s a quick video highlighting the beauty experts…
The products I chose were:
Bella Bronze ~ Golden Chamomile and Goats Milk Self Tanner (It had the expected strange odor of self tanners, made my skin a really nice golden color, but was streaky. I was very careful to apply evenly and to rub in completely, but I had blotches and streaks. It may just be me, but that was my experience.)
Bella Bronze ~ Face Tanner (Since I was streaky from the other tanner, I was afraid to use this one on my face. I’m giving both to a friend…hopefully they’ll have better luck applying it.)
Canyon Ranch Your Transformation ~ Balance Light Weight Moisture (This is a moisturizer that I really like. It comes in a pump and it works well for my skin type.)
Raw Natural Beauty ~ Mineral Eye Shadow Trio (I LOVE this eye shadow. It is a powder and comes in little shakers and you use make-up brushes to apply. My only issue is that I am messy and end up spilling a little every time I use it. It goes on smoothly and is my favorite item out of the whole box.)
Hair Therapy Wrap ~ Hair Therapy Wrap – Brown
Alchimie Forever ~ Helium Body Conditioner (I really liked this stuff. It has a ‘fancy’ scent – Rosemary/Green Tea like it comes from a high end store. It works the same as the Olay In-shower Body Lotion I mentioned in a previous review.)
iQ Derma ~ Glacial Hydrating Mask (This was NOT for me. I’ve had reactions to facial masks in the past, so I should have known to avoid this one. It says to leave it on for 10 minutes, that it has a cooling sensation, and is hypoallergenic. The cooling sensation was intense, I washed it off well before 10 minutes, and within 5 minutes or so (after I rinsed) I had red whelps on over half my face, which disappeared after a few hours…tried it on my husband, no whelps…he said it made shaving easier & he really liked it.)
iQ Derma ~ Smartlash (This stuff is to promote eyelash growth. Since this is an over-time product, I don’t know if it is working or not. You apply it like an eyeliner 2x a day…which I can never seem to remember to do.)
I also received a Beautyfix Large Cosmetics Bag…which I desperately needed. It fits all my make-up, beauty ‘tools’ (brushes, eyelash curler, tweezers, etc.), moisturizers, and has room to spare. It seems quite durable and even looks cool.
Overall, I was happy with my Beautyfix box. I think the combined value of the items included is well worth $49.99. I plan on using my $25 glow.com certificate soon and posting a review on that as well. One complaint I did have was shipping time. I placed my order on March 22nd, I received a shipping notification on March 29th, it didn’t actually ship until April 6th, and I received the box on April 14th. It was securely packaged, and some of the items even showed retail pricing…the Smartlash retails at $125!
There are other member benefits as well:
By sharing your opinion (via a short survey) of 2 or more products, you will receive a $25 off $50 order to glow.com gift certificate.
There are member only discounts to glow.com.
You get personalized recommendations from a panel of experts.
There are new products quarterly.
And there is a referral system… For every person that you refer (limit of 5 per season), you receive a $10 credit. That means if 5 of your referrals register, your next Beautyfix is FREE!
As a special for my wonderful readers, Beautyfix.com is offering a discount for your first Beautyfix. When you use the promo code: BFIX5, it will give you $30 off the $49.99 price for the Beautyfix Spring 2010 season! You’ll be able to get your Spring Beautyfix for only $19.99 + FREE shipping!
Check it out for yourself at Beautyfix.com, or on Facebook, or on Twitter. Be sure to come back here and leave your feedback on your Beautyfix experience! =)
My first thought about ‘in-shower lotion’ was that it was ridiculous. Why on earth would I want to add a step to my shower? Why would I want to apply a lotion that’s made to rinse off…only to have to apply lotion again after my shower…what’s the point? Oh…for the shower product people to make money, right. Well, I can honestly say that I am so glad I didn’t voice those opinions because I’d totally have to take back every word.
Last week, Walgreen’s had a special going on when you purchase Olay Quench Body Lotion, you get the Olay Quench In-Shower Lotion for FREE…so I did what I always do when something is available for free…I got it. I figured, heck, it’s free…why not try it? So, I did. And I love it. That’s right, LOVE IT! It is a thick creamy lotion with a light scent that lingers after the shower. It is so moisturizing that I don’t have to put additional lotion on after my shower if I’m in a hurry. It leaves your skin soft without being greasy. It is a great product, but slightly pricey for my taste. I also tried using the Olay Quench Body Lotion after my shower the next day, and my skin felt wonderful all day.
I LOVE the scent of this lotion, it reminds me of summer for some reason…I’m guessing the cocoa butter. It is light, but keeps my skin moisturised all day. Best of all, it is reasonably priced and I have seen coupons for it. Also, right now there is a rebate available so you can try it for FREE. Here’s the link to the rebate… http://www.olay.com/Club_Olay/march2010/images/Quench_Form_olayhome.pdf
